Potholes set to worsen in Autumn

Drivers have been warned that the UK’s pothole problem is expected to get significantly worse in the coming weeks.

Warm weather followed by heavy rain is likely to cause roads to deteriorate rapidly, putting drivers at risk of vehicle damage.

Potholes can cost motorists hundreds of pounds in vehicle repairs, with the average repair cost for pothole damage in 2024 rising to £300, totalling £579 million across the UK.
