EV myth-busting has been found to encourage enthusiasm surrounding purchasing amongst UK buyers, according to Char.gy and YouGov.

The top concerns voiced by motorists in the UK when it comes to making the switch to electric cars remains range anxiety (71%) and purchase price (62%), despite infrastructure and used EV pricing improving greatly since 2022.
The report cited that the used car market should be an area of focus when it comes to correcting EV myths, as over half (53-57%) of potential EV buyers claim that they plan to purchase second-hand.
With five years until the ban on new petrol and diesel cars, there’s a growing need to encourage those who are still unsure to make the switch to electric.
Helping to give drivers of ICE cars hands-on experience of electric vehicles, EValuate, the latest initiative from Motor Assist, allows ICE drivers in need of a replacement vehicle to choose an EV while their car is being repaired. The scheme has helped drivers to dispel uncertainty and discover how an electric vehicle would fit into their daily lives, in a real-world extended test period.
