Filters have now been added to properties listed on Zoopla to help UK drivers find a home with an EV charger or nearby charging facilities, in partnership with Vauxhall’s Electric Streets Campaign.
The collaboration was formed to help buyers and renters with an EV, or looking to make the switch, find a home with either pre-existing charging facilities or infrastructure available to them nearby. This comes after research by Vauxhall found that 40% of UK motorists have said that proximity to EV charging will be an influential factor when they next move house.
Prior to the filter, Zoopla discovered that only 1.6% of properties listed explicitly mentioned EV charging.
Vauxhall also revealed that a third of UK motorists would be deterred from moving into a property that lacked accessible EV charging, a figure which rises to 84% for current EV owners.
As the UK nears the 2030 new petrol and diesel vehicle ban, it is important for industries across the country to acknowledge the needs of electric and ICE vehicle drivers including incident management services. Motor Assist can help drivers with any motoring related incident, and has a network of expert bodyshops that can cater to EVs when the unexpected happens, while providing a like-for-like replacement vehicle where needed, including electric vehicles.
To further encourage the switch to electric, EValuate, Motor Assist’s latest initiative, offers ICE drivers in need of a replacement vehicle the option to select an EV, to see if it is viable for them to make the switch with a real world extended test.
